When I started a small gardening business with a friend, we wanted to focus on gardening in small spaces as we both lived in Boston with limited. One of the ideas we had was adding a planter to the facade of a house without needing to make holes, hooks, or screws. Very quickly, our focus landed on the downspout.
As life sometimes goes, we separated and split our inventory. At first, I hadn’t planned to sell the downspout flower planters on my new site as the spare inventory was tucked away. And then it hit me. Why not? After all I had them patiently waiting to be used, not only as decoration, increased curb appeal, but to add flowers or herbs to an area, which you not have imagined as a possible gardening location.
And aren’t the planters beautiful?
After trial and error, measuring our downspouts, we ended up with an herb planter. Suddenly we didn’t only have a great flower pot on our hand; we discovered that the idea land itself to vertical gardening.
So if you have an easily accessible downspout, these planters increase your gardening square footage and create a new focal point to your house.
As you can see from the pictures, the flower pots come in 4 colors” White, Green, Blue and Brown. The planter’s back fits like a glove on a standard US residential downspout.
The seed planter comes with a flexible strap. The strap hooks into one side of the pot goes behind the downspout and tightness on the other side of the planter.
On the bottom of the planter, there are several holes to let residue water out.
The flower pot is made out of food-grade PVC. The planter is 6″ x 7″ and fits standard US residential 2″x3″ downspouts.
You find all 4 color options here. I am only selling the planters within the US. I am currently offering FREE SHIPPING.
I’d love to hear some feedback and even a picture or 2. You can tag me on my Instagram as well.
